Playground University

Don't know where to start?  You've come to the right place.

For the past 28 years we have been working with customers just like you, helping to create a customized playscape that fits your needs and exceeds your expectations.  This process can be intimidating - but it doesn't have to be.  It can be fun.  Let us help.

Step 1: Determine your playground needs

  • What age children will be using your playground? We can help you select equipment that will be age-appropriate. Having age-appropriate activities helps keep younger children safe and older children excited and engaged. Structures are designed for children ages 2-5, 2-12 or 5-12. Click on the images below to see structures designed for each age range.

  • How much physical space do you have available at your playground site? Space dimensions are important for determining appropriate equipment, surfacing and fall zones.

  • What is your project timeline? Are you looking to purchase equipment immediately or are you still in the fund-raising process?  Miracle equipment is custom-made to order. Once an order is placed equipment usually arrives in about 4 weeks.

  • Will your project require any safety surfacing? We have a wide variety of surfacing options. Click on the images below to learn more.

  • Will your project require any "accessories"? We offer a wide range of products to complement your playstructure: Tables, Benches, Trash Receptacles, Athletic Equipment, Bleachers, and Water Fountains. Click here to view our product line-up.

  • What is your budget? Is your budget strictly limited to equipment or does it include room for installation, surfacing and site amenities?

Step 2: Meet with your experienced Recreation Consultant

Our recreation consultants have over 45 years combined experience in designing and installing playgrounds. We have 3 certified playground safety inspectors on staff and have been serving South Texas since 1981.

Our sales consultant will meet with you at your site and help you pinpoint the parameters listed above. They will then create a few design options for your review.

Step 3: Select your playground design

At Park Place, we design with fun in mind - creating playgrounds that challenge kids and engage their imagination while meeting all current safety and accessibility standards.

Our design process is fully interactive - choose one of our pre-designed play systems or work with our design team to create a custom playstructure that fits your space limitations and budget.

Our equipment is completely customizable. We like to think of each element of the play system as giant building blocks - how you combine them is up to you!

Browse our selection of Pre-designed Play Systems to get an idea of what you like. We have over 150 different options to choose from, sorted by age appropriateness and price.

Give your playground style - choose one our themed color combinations or create your own custom palette.

Don't see what your looking for? Contact us and we can work with you to create a customized structure. Browse through our Project Gallery to see what we have created over the years for clients just like you.

Step 4: Purchase or finance your project

At Park Place, we know that the playground you want is not always within your budget.  That's why we offer a variety of fundraising opportunities. We can also point you in the right direction with information about grants that may be available to help fund your new playground. Miracle Recreation also has a lease-to-purchase program for qualified customers.

Once you've designed and purchased your playground, the next step is to install the equipment. Properly installed equipment is vital in creating a playground that is safe for kids.

We have a variety of installation options to chose from:

1. Let us do all the work!  We have factory-trained installation crews with years of experience building Miracle playgrounds.  Electing to use our installation service ensures that your playground will be built safely and efficiently.

2. Install the equipment yourself.  All equipment comes with necessary installation specifications and guidelines.

3. Participate in the Community Build Program.  An option that is both economical and rewarding - hire one of our experienced installers to supervise your crew of volunteers as they put together your new playground.  To learn more about our Community Build Program, click here.

       Step 6: Play!

Play is an important part of a child's physical, mental and social development. Play allows kids to develop motor skills and burn off excess energy. Play helps children develop communication and negotiation skills, gives them the opportunity to assume leadership roles as well as gain an understanding of the world around them.

Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act

On August 14, 2008 President Bush signed into law the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008. This legislation seeks to regulate the amount of certain substances in children's products. These substances include heavy metal in coatings, phthalates, and lead in substrates. This legislation requires rigorous 3rd party-testing of manufacturer's products to ensure compliance. All products manufactured by Miracle Recreation comply with this new legislation. Click here to read the law in its entirety.
